My Favorite Nichome: TOKYO PRIDE

I recently stopped by TOKYO PRIDE for a quick visit.
Since it was a hot day, I dropped by the booth of Allergan, the hyaluronic acid company I often work with. I greeted the staff, handed over my business card, and left after about ten minutes in total.

Lately, I’ve been picking up more and more Nichome slang.

One new term I learned is GMPD.
Can you guess what it stands for?

(Just for context—GERD stands for gastroesophageal reflux disease, SGLT1 is a transporter involved in maltase absorption, and GLUT2 is a membrane protein responsible for glucose absorption.
None of these ever came up on my exams, by the way.)

Anyway—back to the topic—any idea what GMPD means?

It stands for: Gachimuchi Pochari Debu.
In English, that would be something like muscular-chubby-heavyset—a body type that’s apparently gaining popularity in Nichome lately.

Always fun to learn something new!
