This place isn’t a gay bar, but an izakaya.
What makes it appealing is its very low prices and wide variety of menu items. The menu on the table only lists the basics, and we have to look at the flyers on the wall to know what’s really available. It’s exciting to discover where and what is written on those flyers.
I always order the sashimi here.
The sashimi platter always includes whale meat. It’s quite rare.
Whale sashimi tastes similar to horse sashimi.
By the way, in my hometown of Saga, whale meat was served in school lunches. I had forgotten the taste of it, so I’m happy to have encountered it again.
Among the staff, the popular drink is the citric acid sour.
It’s tangy, fizzy, and very easy to drink.
It even comes with a cucumber inside, though I’ve never seen anyone actually eat the cucumber.
The sign outside the restaurant has a certain charm.
It almost seems to reflect the intensity of Nichome’s nightlife.
We also have a sign at our clinic, but I’ve decided to always put it away by evening.
Whenever I go to this izakaya, I always run into someone I know.
It’s the local hangout spot for everyone in Nichome.
