My Favorite Nichome (New Ao)

I vividly remember talking about the connection between the lyrics of Yoasobi songs and the books they’re based on. I absolutely love Yoasobi’s music, and I used to sing their songs like "Idol" and "Gunjou" at gay bars. I also made sure to read Oshi no Ko.

At New Ao, one of the staff members is a Yoasobi fan too, and they introduced me to the book that inspired the song "Haruka." The cup featured in Haruka was bought by a girl and was used at her home for many years. It witnessed key moments in her life, like when she left home, got married, and had children. The cup’s life, from its purchase to when it eventually broke, was like a song about its existence. The story was so fascinating, and it sparked my interest to read other books as well.

After reading a variety of books, I would definitely recommend this one as the number one story for elementary school children.

I’d recommend it to elementary school kids, those with elementary school-aged children, and anyone still in their "chuunibyou" phase.

Also, the barley tea with shochu at New Ao is delicious!♡
